Halak

Mount Halak, meaning “bare” or “smooth mountain,” marked the southern limit of Joshua’s conquests. It lay west of the Arabah in the direction of Seir.

A major ancient city and kingdom in upper Syria, situated on the Orontes River. Hamath had relations with Israel, was repeatedly involved in regional conflicts, and later became known as Hamah.
Hamath-zobah

A place mentioned in connection with Solomon’s campaigns in 2 Chronicles 8:3. It may refer to Hamath associated with the kingdom of Zobah, but its exact identity is uncertain.
