Spiritual Gifts

Spiritual gifts are abilities and forms of service given by the Holy Spirit to believers for the benefit of others and the building up of the Church. The New Testament describes a variety of gifts, including teaching, service, encouragement, leadership, mercy, generosity, prophecy, healing, and others. No believer possesses every gift, and no gift makes one Christian more important than another. Like the different parts of a single body, believers are equipped in different ways so that together they may serve Christ, strengthen one another, and carry out the mission of the Church.

Spiritual Warfare

Spiritual warfare describes the biblical conflict between the purposes of God and the spiritual forces of evil. Scripture teaches that Satan opposes God, deceives humanity, tempts people toward sin, and seeks to hinder the work of God's kingdom. Christians are called neither to fear nor to become preoccupied with evil spiritual powers, but to stand firm in Christ. Their primary weapons are truth, righteousness, faith, the gospel, salvation, the Word of God, and prayer. The New Testament assures believers that Christ has already defeated the powers of evil through His death and resurrection and that their final destruction is certain.
