
Period of the Judges (Deborah, Gideon, Samson)
After Joshua died, Israel was led by judges who delivered the people from their enemies when they turned back to God. Judges such as Deborah, Gideon, and Samson led Israel during this period of repeated cycles of sin, oppression, repentance, and deliverance (Judges 2:16-19).
Fall of Jericho
The city of Jericho was the first city conquered by the Israelites in the Promised Land. God instructed the Israelites to march around the city for seven days, and the walls fell when the people shouted and the priests blew their trumpets (Joshua 6:20).
Joshua and the Promised Land
After the death of Moses, Joshua became the leader of Israel and led the Israelites into the Promised Land of Canaan (Joshua 1:1-3). God promised to be with Joshua as He had been with Moses and commanded him to be strong and courageous (Joshua 1:9).
