Sanctification
Sanctification is a major concept in the Bible and refers to the process by which a person is made holy and set apart for God. The word itself means “to make holy” or “to set apart for a sacred purpose,” and it describes the transformation that takes place in the life of a believer after coming to faith in God (1 Thessalonians 4:3; Hebrews 12:14). Sanctification is therefore closely related to holiness, righteousness, and spiritual growth.
Sin
Sin, in the Bible, is the fundamental problem of humanity and the root cause of separation from God. It is described as rebellion against God, a violation of His law, and a failure to live according to His will. Scripture defines sin plainly: “sin is lawlessness” (1 John 3:4), emphasizing that it is not merely wrongdoing in a human sense, but an offense against the character and authority of God.
