Justification
Justification is a central concept in Christian theology and refers to the act by which God declares a sinner to be righteous in His sight. The term comes from legal language and means to be acquitted, declared righteous, or counted as just before a judge. In the biblical sense, justification describes how a person is made right with God, not by their own goodness, but through God’s grace (Romans 3:24; Romans 5:1). Justification is therefore closely connected to forgiveness, salvation, and reconciliation with God.
Justification and Sanctification
Justification is the act of God declaring a person righteous and free of sin through faith in Jesus Christ. It is a gift from God that is based upon the redemptive work of Christ. Sanctification is the process whereby God the Holy Spirit transforms the believer into the image and likeness of Christ.
