God's Immutability
The immutability of God is the biblical teaching that God does not change in His essential nature, character, moral perfection, or faithfulness to His purposes. Unlike human beings, whose beliefs, desires, and commitments may change, God remains eternally consistent with who He is. His love does not become less loving, His holiness does not diminish, and His promises do not become unreliable. Scripture sometimes describes God as responding differently when people repent or rebel, but such responses reflect His consistent character rather than a change in it. God's immutability therefore provides a foundation for confidence that the God revealed in Scripture remains forever trustworthy.
God's Justice
The justice of God is the expression of His perfect holiness and righteousness in judging what is good and evil. Because God is completely impartial and knows every action, motive, and circumstance, His judgments are always right. Scripture portrays Him as the defender of the oppressed, the judge of wrongdoing, and the One who will ultimately set all things right. God's justice is not opposed to His love and mercy; at the cross, justice and grace meet as Christ bears the penalty of sin so that forgiveness can be offered without ignoring the seriousness of evil.
