Heaven

In the Bible, heaven is first of all the dwelling place of God, the realm of his throne, glory, and rule over creation (Deuteronomy 26:15; 1 Kings 8:30; Psalm 11:4; Isaiah 66:1; Matthew 6:9). Scripture also uses “heaven” for the sky and the visible heavens above the earth (Genesis 1:1, 8, 14–17), so the meaning depends on context. As a biblical concept, heaven includes God’s transcendent holiness, the worship of heavenly beings before him (Isaiah 6:1–3; Daniel 7:9–10; Revelation 4:1–11), and the hope that God will finally unite heaven and earth in his redeemed creation (Isaiah 65:17; Matthew 6:10; Revelation 21:1–4).

Hell

Hell, in the Bible, is the place of final judgment and separation from God, reserved for those who reject Him. It is presented not merely as a symbolic idea, but as a real and sobering reality within the biblical worldview. Jesus Himself spoke of Hell more frequently than any other figure in Scripture, warning of its consequences and urging repentance. He described it as a place of “everlasting fire” prepared for the devil and his angels (Matthew 25:41), and as a realm where there is “weeping and gnashing of teeth” (Matthew 13:42).
