Glory
The concept of glory in the Bible refers to the greatness, majesty, holiness, and presence of God. The word “glory” is used throughout Scripture to describe both God’s visible presence and His inherent greatness and honor. In the Old Testament, the Hebrew word often translated as glory is kavod, which originally meant weight or heaviness, and by extension came to mean importance, honor, or splendor. In this sense, the glory of God refers to the overwhelming significance and majesty of God’s presence and character (Exodus 24:16–17; Psalm 19:1).
God's Name
Over the ages, people have employed a variety of words to refer to the God of the Israelites and Christians. Some are titles, but one (in various forms), refers to the Divine, personal name.
