You can't imagine why all this happened
Don't close your eyes
I vow to hold you
Until you break through
Just swear you'll stay alive

All your death will be resurrected again
All your death will be resurrected again
With your hand on my heart
Make me a promise to live
A promise to live
Make me a promise to live

LYRICS
I left my ball and chain behind me
Every burden, every weight
I changed my name to freedom
From prisoner and slave
Stood up to my oppressors
Shook the shackles off my hands
I'm going down to the Promised Land

I'm dusting off the desert
I'm silencing my doubt
The one who goes before me
Is the one who leads me out
With fire in the darkness
With footprints in the sand
I'm going down to the Promised Land

I'm not just getting out of Egypt
Egypt's getting out of me
I can see those walls of Jericho
In pieces at my feet
I can taste that milk and honey
From the wilderness I am
Going down, down, down to the Promised Land

LYRICS:
Faithful through the ages

God of Abraham
You're the God of covenant and faithful promises
Time and time again
You have proven
You'll do just what You said

Though the storms may come
And the winds may blow, I'll remain steadfast
And let my heart learn when You speak a word
It will come to pass

Great is Your faithfulness to me
Great is Your faithfulness to me
From the rising sun to the setting same
I will praise Your name
Great is Your faithfulness to me, oh

(When seasons change, you remain the same)
Yeah, God from age to age
Though the earth may pass away
Your word remains the same, yeah
Your history can prove
There's nothing You can't do
You're faithful and tTrue

Though the storms may come
And the winds may blow, I'll remain steadfast
And let my heart learn when You speak a word, it will come to pass

Great is Your faithfulness to me, woah
Great is Your faithfulness, from the rising sun
From the rising sun to the setting same
I will praise Your Name, oh
Great is Your faithfulness to me

My anchor to the ground
My hope and firm foundation

In the middle of the road
When I don't know where to go

I'll still bless You (yeah)
In the middle of my storm
In the middle of my trial

LYRICS:
Put down my thoughts in a letter to the president
Penciled and packaged with all due respect
Elvis commemoratives just for effect
Never heard back
You think you know a guy

Wired my congrats to Chuck and Di some time ago
(All my love to the queen)
My invitation was lost in the mail
But I know I was missed when they kissed 'neath the veil
I sent a nice gift
Never got a note

But my closet's a shrine to an old friend of mine
Here I talk all the time with a prophet-priest
Pull out boxes and brooms, I gush like a groom
For it's here I commune
With a prophet, priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)
Prophet, priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)

If I indeed am misperceived by some heads of state
(Hey that's great)
'Cause I talk to a prophet who tells me the truth
And I dine with a king at my home in Duluth
Better yet I'm in touch with a much needed friend
Who hears my confessions and pardons my sin

Yeah my closet's a shrine to an old friend of mine
Here I talk all the time with a prophet-priest
Pull out boxes and brooms, I gush like a groom
For it's here I commune
With a prophet, priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)
Prophet priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)

Prophet, priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)
Prophet, priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)
Prophet, priest and king
(Prophet, priest and king)

LYRICS:
You search me
You know me
You see my every move
There's nothing I could ever do

To hide myself from You
You know my thoughts
My fears and hurts
My weaknesses and pride

You know what I am going through
And how I feel inside
But even though You know
You will always love me

Even though You know
You'll never let me go
I don't deserve Your love
But you give it freely

You will always love me
Even though You know

You search me
You know me
You see my every move
There's nothing I could ever do

To hide myself from You
You know my thoughts
My fears and hurts
My weaknesses and pride

You know what I am going through
And how I feel inside
But even though You know
You will always love me

Even though You know
You'll never let me go
I don't deserve Your love
But you give it freely

You will always love me
Even though You know
You will always love me
Even though You know

As the title suggests, the lyrics are based on Psalm 23 from the Bible, which is one of the most well-known and cherished Psalms. This song captures the essence of the Psalm, conveying a message of trust, protection, and the eternal presence of God.

The song begins by declaring, “The Lord is my Shepherd, there’s nothing I need.” These words are a direct reference to the first verse of Psalm 23, where David proclaims that the Lord is his Shepherd and therefore, he lacks nothing. This line sets the tone for the rest of the song, emphasizing the unwavering trust and reliance on God’s provision.

LYRICS:
I called and the Lord heard me
He is close to the broken hearted
And saves those who are crushed in spirit

Lord, You are my Shepherd
And I shall not want anymore
You make me lie down in peace
In fields of green I will sleep

Lead me beside the still waters
Gently restoring my soul

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord heal me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please free me)
I will fear no evil, You are with me
(I know You hear my prayer)

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord love me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please touch me)
I will fear no evil
(I need You here)

You prepare me a table
In the presence of my foes
There with oil You anoint me
And my cup now overflows

Surely Your love and Your goodness
Will follow me all of my life

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord heal me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please free me)
I will fear no evil, You are with me
(I know You hear my prayer)

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord love me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please touch me)
I will fear no evil
(I need You here)

Guide me now in Your righteousness
Oh, I will dwell with You forever

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord heal me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please free me)
I will fear no evil, You are with me
(I know You hear my prayer)
Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord love me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please touch me)
I will fear no evil
(I need You here)

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord heal me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please free me)
I will fear no evil, You are with me
(I know You hear my prayer)

Even though I walk through the valley
(Lord love me)
Of the shadow of death
(Please touch me)
I will fear no evil
(I need You here)

Though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death
I will fear no evil, for Thou art with me
Thy rod and Thy staff they comfort me
