Bible verses referenced in the song:
1. "Do not look upon my sin, but dear Lord look deep within" - Psalm 139:23-24 - "Search me, O God, and know my heart! Try me and know my thoughts! And see if there be any grievous way in me, and lead me in the way everlasting!"
2. "For even though you are a King, I hear you call me as your friend" - John 15:15 - "No longer do I call you servants, for the servant does not know what his master is doing; but I have called you friends, for all that I have heard from my Father I have made known to you."
3. "Is this a love that knows no bounds and beckons even me?" - Romans 8:38-39 - "For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

The song "Jesus Is This Song of Love" has many practical applications to Christian living. Here are some of them:

1. Love and Devotion to Jesus Christ - The song reminds us of the importance of loving and having a deep devotion to Jesus Christ. As believers, we are called to love God with all our heart, soul, mind, and strength (Mark 12:30). This song is a beautiful expression of that love and devotion.

2. Confession and Repentance - The song acknowledges that we are sinners in need of God's grace and mercy. As Christians, we are called to confess our sins and turn away from them (1 John 1:9). This song is a beautiful reminder of the importance of confession and repentance.

3. Intimacy with God - The song speaks of a burning desire within the heart of the writer to know and love God more. As believers, we are called to have a deep and intimate relationship with God (John 17:3). This song is a beautiful reflection of that desire for intimacy with God.

4. Unconditional Love of God - The song reminds us of the unconditional love of God. As Christians, we are called to love others as God loves us (John 13:34-35). This song is a beautiful expression of that love and a reminder that God's love is unconditional.
LYRICS:
Jesus is this song of love heard up in the heavens above
Though I stumble and I stray turn to me again.
Do not look upon my sin, but dear Lord look deep within
See the fire that burns therein, a passion for your name

For even though you are a King I hear you call me as your friend,
Is this a love that knows no bounds and beckons even me?
And though your name is greatly feared you still would draw a sinner near,
Turn and with a gracious ear hear my song of love!

Upon hearing the melody Doane had composed, Frances Crosby said she felt it and remarked, “Jesus, Keep me near the cross.” She sat down and wrote the words for this hymn. Crosby combines vivid imagery and powerful biblical and evangelical metaphor into her writing which is remarkable because she was blind since she was 6 weeks old.
There are many songs about being at the cross of Jesus, however we are told that few of his followers actually stayed by the cross while he was dying. Most of those who were nearby were those that mocked him or Roman soldiers involved with the execution. John 19 tells us that Mary, the mother of Jesus, and his disciple John were at the cross. They are the only ones mentioned.

However, the most important sentiment of this hymn is that we stay close to Christ.

LYRICS:
Jesus lead me to your healing waters
Take me down to your healing stream
Jesus lead me to your healing waters
Take me down and wash me clean

Many days have gone since I first loved you
Now I'm out here wanderin' on my own
Never have I known more that I need you
Than out here wanderin' all alone

Jesus lead me to your healing waters
Take me down to your healing stream
Jesus lead me to your healing waters
Take me down and wash me clean

Jesus purify me in your fire
Burn me up until I see
Jesus purify me in your fire
Burn me up until I believe

Many days have gone yet still I loved you
Never would I make it on my own
This life here and now is where I need you
And then up there is where I'm finally home

Jesus oh sweet heavenly father
Take me up and give me wings
Jesus oh sweet heavenly father
Take me up and set me free

Oh take me up and set me free
Oh take me up and set me free

LYRICS:
1 Jesus, lover of my soul,
let me to thy bosom fly,
while the nearer waters roll,
while the tempest still is high;
hide me, O my Savior, hide,
till the storm of life is past;
safe into the haven guide,
O receive my soul at last!

2 Other refuge have I none;
hangs my helpless soul on thee;
leave, ah! leave me not alone,
still support and comfort me.
All my trust on thee is stayed,
all my help from thee I bring;
cover my defenseless head
with the shadow of thy wing.
3 Plenteous grace with thee is found,
grace to cover all my sin;
let the healing streams abound;
make and keep me pure within.
Thou of life the fountain art;
freely let me take of thee;
spring thou up within my heart,
rise to all eternity.

LYRICS:
[Verse 1]
Who has the power to raise the dead?
Who can save us from our sin?
He is our hope, our righteousness
Jesus, only Jesus

[Verse 2]
Who can make the blind to see?
Who holds the keys that set us free?
He paid it all to bring us peace
Jesus, only Jesus

[Chorus]
Holy, King almighty Lord
Saints and angels all adore
I join with them and bow before
Jesus, only Jesus

[Verse 3]
Who can command the highest praise?
Who has the name above all names?
You stand alone, I stand amazed
Jesus, only Jesus

[Chorus]
Holy, King almighty Lord
Saints and angels all adore
I join with them and bow before
Jesus, only Jesus

[Bridge]
You will command the highest praise
Yours is the name above all names
You stand alone, I stand amazed
Jesus, only Jesus
Jesus, only Jesus

[Chorus]
Holy, King almighty Lord
Saints and angels all adore
I join with them and bow before
Jesus, only Jesus

LYRICS:
She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati on a snow-white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her mama and her daddy with the baby in the backseat
50 miles to go, and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long, hard year

She had a lot on her mind, and she didn't pay attention
She was going way too fast
Before she knew it, she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
She was so scared
She threw her hands up in the air

Jesus, take the wheel
Take it from my hands
'Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
And save me from this road I'm on
Jesus, take the wheel

It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat, sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said, "I'm sorry for the way I've been living my life
I know I've got to change, so from now on tonight"

Jesus, take the wheel
Take it from my hands
'Cause I can't do this on my own
I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
And save me from this road I'm on
Oh, Jesus, take the wheel

Oh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
From this road I'm on

Jesus, take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
Oh, whoa, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

This hymn music is from the English Hymnal (1933). The words may be from by Mary Duncan, in 1839.
1 Jesus, tender Shepherd, hear me;
bless Your little lamb tonight;
through the darkness please be near me;
watch my sleep till morning light.

2 All this day Your hand has led me,
and I thank You for Your care;
You have clothed me, warmed and fed me,
listen to my evening prayer.
3 Let my sins be all forgiven;
bless the friends I love so well;
take me, when I die, to heaven,
happy there with You to dwell.

LYRICS:
There's a secret i must tell
of all the love i've found
and its hidden in my heart
the day you tore my world apart
Hallelujah, King forever, Friend and Saviour

Jesus' blood never fails me
Jesus' blood never fails me
Jesus' blood, Jesus' blood

and this secret, it will run
to the corners of the earth
where every women, every son
will carry high their chains undone
Hallelujah King forever, Friend and Saviour
Jesus' blood never fails me
Jesus' blood never fails me
Jesus' blood, Jesus' blood

sing your songs of freedom
praise the God of Heaven
Love that never fails me
Jesus' blood, Jesus' blood.
