"I'll Fly Away", is a hymn written in 1929 by Albert E. Brumley and published in 1932 by the Hartford Music company in a collection titled Wonderful Message. It has been called the most recorded gospel song, and it is frequently used in worship services by Baptists, Pentecostals, Nazarenes, the Churches of Christ and many Methodists. It appears in many hymnals where it is listed under the topics of eternal life, heaven and acceptance. It is a standard song at bluegrass jam sessions and is often performed at funerals.
Albert E. Brumley has been described as the "pre-eminent gospel songwriter" of the 20th century with over 600 published songs. According to interviews, Brumley came up with the idea for "I'll Fly Away" while picking cotton on his father's farm in Rock Island, Oklahoma.

Brumley says that as he worked he was "humming the old ballad that went like this: 'If I had the wings of an angel, over these prison walls I would fly,' and suddenly it dawned on me that I could use this plot for a gospel-type song." The song Brumley described appears to be "The Prisoner's Song".

It was an additional three years later until Brumley worked out the rest of the song, paraphrasing one line from the secular ballad to read, "Like a bird from prison bars has flown" using prison as an analogy for earthly life. Brumley has stated, "When I wrote it, I had no idea that it would become so universally popular."
LYRICS:
1.
Some glad morning when this life is o'er,
I'll fly away;
To a home on God's celestial shore,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

Chorus
I'll fly away, Oh Glory
I'll fly away; (in the morning)
When I die, Hallelujah, by and by,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away).

2.
When the shadows of this life have gone,
I'll fly away;
Like a bird from prison bars has flown,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

Chorus

3.
Just a few more weary days and then,
I'll fly away;
To a land where joy shall never end,
I'll fly away (I'll fly away)

1 It may not be on the mountain’s height
Or over the stormy sea,
It may not be at the battle’s front
My Lord will have need of me;
But if by a still, small voice He calls
To paths I do not know,
I’ll answer, dear Lord, with my hand in Thine,
I’ll go where You want me to go.

Refrain:
I’ll go where You want me to go, dear Lord,
O'er mountain or plain or sea;
I’ll say what you want me to say, dear Lord,
I’ll be what You want me to be.
2 Perhaps today there are loving words
Which Jesus would have me speak,
There may be now, in the paths of sin,
Some wand’rer whom I should seek;
O Savior, if Thou wilt be my Guide,
Tho dark and rugged the way,
My voice shall echo the message sweet,
I’ll say what You want me to say. [Refrain]

3 There’s surely somewhere a lowly place
In earth’s harvest fields so wide,
Where I may labor thru life’s short day
For Jesus the Crucified;
So, trusting my all unto Thy care--
I know Thou lovest me
I’ll do Thy will with a heart sincere,
I’ll be what You want me to be. [Refrain]

LYRICS:
You gave me unmerited favor
Indescribable peace
And every morning
New mercies i see
Great is your faithfulness
Great is your love towards me
You bear all my cares and nothing compares you're Everything to me

And when the storms of life arise
It's your love that makes it alright
You said if we live for you there's nothing you Would not do
So we come to you

CHORUS
So I will live my whole life for you all of my days
I will trust in your power and your holy name
I will love with my heart and give you all the praise
I proclaim I promise to
I proclaim lord I'll live for you

And now it's my turn to offer
You all I have
My heart felt praise
For the rest of my days
I'll lift your name up high
I'll tell the whole world
You bear all my cares and nothing compare you're Everything to me

You said I could call on you
If I would live for you
You said you would see me through
Whenever I needed
You said I could count on you
If I would live for
For your love it never end I hold on to your promises

LYRICS:
I will meet you in the morning by the bright riverside
When all sorrows has drifted away
I'll be standin' at the portals when the gates open wide
At the close of life's long weary day

I'll meet you in the morning with a 'How do you do?'
And we'll sit down by the river and when rapture of the plane is renewed
You'll know me in the morning by the smile that I wear
When I meet you in the morning, in the city that is built four square

I'll meet you in the morning with a 'How do you do?'
And we'll sit down by the river and when rapture of the plane is renewed
You'll know me in the morning by the smile that I wear
When I meet you in the morning, in the city that is built four square
When I meet you in the morning, in the city that is built four square

LYRICS:
1 The world all about me has now no allure:
Its pleasure ring pain,
Its wisdom is vain;
I seek a foundation that's steadfast and sure:
I'll put Jesus first in my life.

Chorus:
In all that I say,
In all that I do,
Thro'out the world of toil and strife,
By day and by night,
Thro' trust in His might,
I'll put Jesus first in my life.

2 The Lord Jesus died my salvation to win:
He went in my stead
To Calv'ry and bled;
Redemption impels me to give up all sin:
I'll put Jesus first in my life. (Chorus)
3 I know there's a home for the ransomed and blest,
When death is no more,
When struggle is o'er,
For those who love Jesus and give Him their best:
I'll put Jesus first in my life. (Chorus)

4 Tho' earth's tribulations continue each day,
Tho' pleasure may call,
Tho' evil enthrall,
His grace will protect me forever and aye:
I'll put Jesus first in my life. (Chorus)

LYRICS:
I'll see you when I get there,
Shining like the sun.
I'll see you when I get there,
Into your arms I'll run.

I see you when the wind blows,
Running without fear,
Born to rest in your fathers arms,
Your joy has dried the tears.

I'll see you when I get there,
When my life's complete,
Will you take me to Jesus' feet?
Hand in hand we'll sing.

We're gonna sing for you.

LYRICS:
I can't run with the horses
If I can't keep up with men
I can fight all these forces
On my own and never win
I can take it from here
And have nowhere to go
I could take it for years
And have nothing to show

I can work like the devil
Build a tower to the sky
I can work for my possessions
Till they empty me of life
I can build my own house
And be building in vain
I can plant a seed
But I can't bring the rain

I'll wait for you
Now more than ever
I see it's true
Now more than ever
I'll wait for you now

I can take my own vengeance
Make a war of all my pain
I can get my own insurance
Find a way to lay the blame
I can win the whole world
And lose my own soul
Holding on for dear life
Spinning out of control

I'll wait for you
Now more than ever
I see it's true
Now more than ever
I'll wait for you now

I don't want to do this by myself
I know I need your help
And so I'm waiting for you

I can take it from here
And have nowhere to go
I can take it for years
And have nothing to show

I'll wait for you
Now more than ever
I see it's true
Now more than ever
I'll wait for you

I don't want to do this by myself
I know I need your help
And so I'm waiting for you

LYRICS:
You're my man and I'm your woman
Where you lead me, I will go
I will stand strong beside you
No matter how hard the wind might blow
Our love will last forever
Like this diamond on my hand
'Cause I was born to be your woman
And you were made to be my man
You're the bread in my body
You're the blood that's in my veins
You're my strength when I grow weary
You're my shelter when it rains
Our love will last forever
Like this golden wedding band
'Cause you was born to be my woman
And I was made to be your man
We are bound by God forever
We're part of a bigger plan
'Cause I was born to be your woman
And I was made to be your man

LYRICS:
Well We Usually Judge A Man By The Clothes He Wears, Or By The Car He’s Riding’ In.
Or You Can Usually Tell If He’s Doing Very Well, By The House He’s Living In.
But I Am Here To Say It Doesn’t Work That Way, With Everybody I Know.
‘Cause I Just Got Acquainted With Some Poor Rich Folks, A Little While Ago.

I’m A Poor Rich Man, I’m A Poor Rich Man.
Oh, You See, It Really Happened To Me. I’m A Millionaire!
I Know That I Am Poor, But I’ve Got A Lot More, Than Many Rich Folks That I Know.
I’ve Got A Home In The Sky, That Money Didn’t Buy, And I’m A Poor Rich Man.

When A Man Is Rich, With This Worlds Goods, He’s Usually Got A Lot Of Friends.
They All Want To Try, To Live So High, When They Know That It’s A Sin.
Well Even If I Could I Don’t Believe I Would, Want The Riches Of This Old World.
And When It’s My Time To Go, I’ll Be Happy To Know, That I’m A Poor Rich Man.

LYRICS:
It was the fear of God that led me to you
And it's the fear of you that takes getting used to
I've never been one to hang my heart on a thread
But you spun me around and you loved me instead, oh oh

And I know I could turn to something other than you
'Cause I don't understand you and why you're after me
I've never been the saint you wanted me to turn to
And I can't see the view from the eyes you look at me through, no

But I'm alright, I'm alright
I'm alright, yeah I'm alright
Baby I'm alright, I'm alright
I'm alright

So cut below the surface and try hard not to notice
That I could be so foolish thinkin' I'm alright
I've got no one to hold me, I've got no one to carry
Everything inside of me that I won't let you see, yeah yeah

But I'm alright, I'm alright
Baby I'm alright, yeah I'm alright
Baby I'm alright, I'm alright
Yeah I'm alright, I'm alright, yeah

I'm alright, and I'm alright
Yeah I'm alright, Baby I'm alright
I'm alright, yeah I'm alright
I'm alright, yeah I'm alright

Yeah I'm alright
Yeah I'm alright
Yeah I'm alright
Yeah I'm alright
Yeah yeah

I'm alright
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah
La la la la la la I'm alright
Yeah yeah
Mm yeah
Yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah
