Beerah was a prince or leader of the Reubenites who was taken captive by Tiglath-pileser, king of Assyria, during the exile of the eastern tribes.

To beguile means to entice, cheat, deceive, or impose upon someone through misleading appearances or arguments. The New Testament uses the term for being drawn into sin or accepting falsehood as truth.

“On behalf of” means on the part of, in the interest of, or for the benefit of another. The expression may indicate assistance or representation, but it does not by itself necessarily mean substitution.
