After becoming king, Solomon began building a temple in Jerusalem for the Lord, fulfilling the plan that his father David had prepared. Solomon gathered materials such as cedar wood and large stones and organized many workers to build the temple. The temple was built on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem and took several years to complete.

The temple included the Holy Place and the Most Holy Place, where the Ark of the Covenant was placed. The inside of the temple was covered with cedar wood and gold, and it was richly decorated. When the temple was finished, Solomon gathered the people of Israel for a dedication ceremony.

During the dedication, the priests brought the Ark of the Covenant into the Most Holy Place. A cloud filled the temple, showing that the presence of the Lord was there. Solomon prayed and dedicated the temple as a place where people could pray and seek forgiveness and where God would dwell among His people.
