Jesus shared a final meal with His disciples before His arrest, where He broke bread and shared a cup, telling them to remember Him. He also predicted His betrayal and Peter's denial (Matthew 26:26-29).
"Take and eat; this is my body." (Matthew 26:26)
"Drink from it, all of you." (Matthew 26:27)
"Do this in remembrance of me." (Luke 22:19)
Before His arrest and crucifixion, Jesus gathered His disciples for a final meal during the Passover festival. During the meal, Jesus took bread, gave thanks, broke it, and gave it to His disciples, saying that it represented His body. He then took a cup and said it represented His blood of the covenant.
Jesus told His disciples that one of them would betray Him and that Peter would deny Him three times before morning. He also gave them a new commandment to love one another as He had loved them.
This meal became known as the Last Supper and is remembered by Christians as a time when Jesus prepared His disciples for His death and gave them instructions for the future.

There are many dozens of bible narratives that have become deeply engrained in western culture. Most are best understood when the culture and customs that surround them are known.
Also, the study of history and archeology often provide us with a foundation for a more complete picture of people and events found within bible narratives.
Evidence continues to be discovered in architectural inscriptions, artwork and other artifacts that encourage us to believe in the historicity of the bible.
