Amnon

Amnon was David's firstborn son who raped his half-sister Tamar and was later killed on Absalom's orders.
Biography
Second Samuel 13 recounts Amnon becoming consumed with desire for Tamar, the sister of his half-brother Absalom. Following the manipulative advice of his cousin Jonadab, Amnon pretended to be ill, arranged for Tamar to attend him, and raped her despite her pleas. His desire then turned to hatred, and he expelled her. David became angry but did not bring effective justice. Absalom said little publicly but hated Amnon. Two years later Absalom arranged a feast and ordered his servants to kill Amnon when he was drinking. Absalom then fled.
Biblical Significance
Amnon's crime and its mishandling became a major turning point in the collapse of David's family. The episode demonstrates the devastating consequences of sexual violence, failed justice, hatred, and revenge.
