Obed
Obed-Edom was associated with the keeping and service of the ark. The ark brought blessing to his household, and later references identify him with Levitical gatekeepers and temple ministers.
Biblical Usage
Obed, son of Boaz and Ruth, became the father of Jesse and grandfather of David. The other men named Obed appear in genealogical, military, Levitical, and royal records.
