Canaanite, The
The Canaanite was Simon the apostle, otherwise called Simon Zelotes. The designation refers to the Jewish Zealot faction, not descent from Canaan.
Biblical Usage
The title occurs in the apostolic lists in Matthew and Mark and corresponds to Simon Zelotes in Luke.
