Archite, The
“The Archite” was a title used for Hushai, David’s trusted friend and counselor. The designation probably identified him with the place or clan of Archi.
Biblical Usage
The title is applied to Hushai in the narratives of David’s reign, including the rebellion of Absalom, and in the list of David’s officials.
