Archaeological Evidence

Excavations at Tel Hazor have uncovered a Canaanite ceremonial palace, temples, cuneiform tablets, monumental architecture, figurines, and extensive evidence of fiery destruction. Later Israelite remains include fortifications and a water system. The Mari and Amarna archives independently document Hazor as an important city. The evidence does not identify who caused the major Late Bronze Age destruction.
