Psalm 30:3 praises God for bringing the psalmist's life up from Sheol and restoring him from the brink of death. In its original setting, David is describing deliverance from a life-threatening crisis rather than claiming that he literally died and was resurrected.

Acts 2:32 proclaims that God actually raised Jesus from the dead and that the apostles were witnesses of His resurrection. Psalm 30:3 is therefore best treated as typological language rather than direct resurrection prophecy. David experienced a figurative rescue "from the grave"; Christ experienced the reality of death and bodily resurrection. The psalm's thanksgiving for deliverance from death thus provides an Old Testament pattern that finds a greater and literal realization in Jesus.
