Psalm 22:31 concludes by declaring that future generations will be told of God's righteousness and that He "has done it." The phrase celebrates God's completed act of deliverance and the proclamation of that saving work to people yet unborn. It is not linguistically identical to Jesus' cry, "It is finished," and the two expressions should not be treated as though they were the same phrase in Hebrew and Greek.

John 19:30 records Jesus announcing, "It is finished," immediately before His death. Hebrews 10:10-18 explains the finality of His sacrifice: unlike repeated priestly offerings, Christ offered one sacrifice for sins and then sat down, having accomplished what was necessary for forgiveness. Christians can therefore see a meaningful thematic correspondence between the psalm's declaration of God's completed work and Christ's completed saving work on the cross. The relationship is theological rather than a direct quotation of Psalm 22:31.
