Daniel 9:24 concludes its sequence of purposes with the difficult expression traditionally translated "to anoint the most Holy." The Hebrew can refer to a most holy place or thing and is not unambiguously a prediction that the Messiah personally would possess moral holiness. For that reason, this verse should not by itself be used as a simple proof-text that "the Messiah would be holy."
Luke 1:35 unquestionably describes Jesus as holy: the angel tells Mary that the child conceived by the Holy Spirit will be called holy, the Son of God. Thus the fulfillment passage firmly establishes the holiness of Christ, but the relationship to Daniel 9:24 is less direct than the table's short description suggests. A conservative explanation can preserve the possible messianic significance of Daniel's "most holy" language while acknowledging that the Hebrew expression has other plausible interpretations.
