Psalm 118:26 blesses the one who comes in the LORD's name and continues, "We bless you from the house of the LORD." Because the psalm was associated with temple worship, Christian interpreters have sometimes connected this language with the Messiah's appearance at the Jerusalem temple.

Matthew 21:12-15 records Jesus entering the temple immediately after the crowds have acclaimed Him with Psalm 118:26. He cleanses the courts, heals the blind and lame there, and receives the continued cries of "Hosanna to the Son of David." This provides a meaningful historical correspondence while the Second Temple still stood. Nevertheless, the phrase "from the house of the LORD" in Psalm 118 is not itself a chronological prediction that the Messiah must come before the temple's destruction. The strongest fulfillment is Matthew's explicit use of the psalm during Jesus' entry and subsequent temple ministry.
