Luke 1:32-33 answers that hope by identifying Jesus as the heir to David's throne whose kingdom will never end. Unlike mortal Davidic kings whose reigns ended in death, Christ's resurrection makes an everlasting reign possible in the fullest sense. Christians therefore understand the enduring seed, throne, and kingdom promised in Psalm 89 as ultimately secured in Jesus, the eternal Son of David.
