Psalm 80:17 prays for God's favor upon "the man of your right hand" and "the son of man" whom God has made strong for Himself. In its original setting the language likely refers to Israel's king or to Israel personified, asking God to restore and empower His chosen representative.

Mark 14:61-62 records Jesus identifying Himself as the Son of Man who will be seen seated at the right hand of Power and coming with the clouds of heaven. Jesus' words draw most directly from Psalm 110:1 and Daniel 7:13, not explicitly from Psalm 80:17. Nevertheless, Christians may see a meaningful convergence: the man strengthened at God's right hand in Psalm 80 finds a fuller realization in the exalted Son of Man who occupies the place of divine authority. The connection is thematic rather than a direct New Testament citation.
