Psalm 45:17 promises that the king's name will be remembered through all generations and praised among the peoples forever. Within the royal wedding psalm, this expresses the enduring fame and significance of the ideal king and his dynasty.

Ephesians 1:20-21 describes the risen Christ exalted above every rule and authority and possessing a name above every name not only in the present age but also in the age to come. Hebrews 1:8 similarly applies Psalm 45's eternal throne directly to the Son. Although Ephesians does not quote verse 17, the correspondence is fitting: the enduring royal name envisioned in the psalm finds its fullest realization in Jesus, whose lordship and honor extend across every age.
