Bible Figure
Zibiah
biblical character
Zibiah of Beersheba was the mother of King Joash of Judah.
Biography
Second Kings 12 and 2 Chronicles 24 identify Joash's mother as Zibiah from Beersheba. Joash became king as a child after being rescued from Athaliah's purge and was guided for many years by Jehoiada the priest. Scripture provides no independent narrative, actions, or words for Zibiah.
Biblical Significance
Zibiah's significance is genealogical as the mother of Joash in the Davidic royal line. Scripture does not support a fuller personal biography.
