Bible Figure
Tiras
Son of Japheth
Tiras was a son of Japheth in the Table of Nations.
Biography
Genesis 10:2 and 1 Chronicles 1:5 list Tiras among Japheth's sons. Scripture gives no independent narrative or explicit identification of the later people descended from him.
Biblical Significance
Tiras is significant genealogically within the post-flood Table of Nations; proposed historical identifications should be kept separate from what Scripture states.
