Susanna

Biography

In the story of Susanna, two elders lust after the married Susanna and falsely accuse her of adultery when she refuses them. She is condemned until the young Daniel separately questions the accusers and exposes contradictions in their testimony, vindicating Susanna. This narrative is included in Catholic and Orthodox forms of Daniel but not in the Jewish or Protestant canon.

Biblical Significance

If retained on AVWJ, Susanna should be clearly labeled deuterocanonical rather than presented as a figure from the Protestant Old Testament canon.
