Oholiab son of Ahisamach of the tribe of Dan was the skilled craftsman appointed with Bezalel to construct the tabernacle and its sacred furnishings.
Biography
Exodus names Oholiab as Bezalel's principal associate in the work of the tabernacle. God equipped them with skill and understanding for artistic craftsmanship, including work in precious materials, engraving, weaving, and embroidery. Oholiab also had ability to teach others, enabling a larger body of skilled workers to carry out the divinely specified design.
Biblical Significance
Oholiab demonstrates that artistic and technical skill can be gifts used directly in sacred service. His work with Bezalel helped translate God's tabernacle instructions into the physical setting of Israel's worship.
