Lael was a Gershonite Levite and the father of Eliasaph, leader of the Gershonite clans in the wilderness.
Biography
Numbers 3:24 identifies Eliasaph son of Lael as the leader of the fathers' house of the Gershonites. Lael himself has no independent action or speech in Scripture.
Biblical Significance
Lael's significance is genealogical within the Gershonite branch of Levi. Scripture does not support a fuller biography.
