Jesus Christ

Jesus was born to the virgin Mary in Bethlehem during the reign of Herod and was raised in Nazareth. After His baptism by John, He proclaimed the kingdom of God, called disciples, taught with authority, healed the sick, cast out demons, forgave sins, and performed signs that revealed His identity and mission. He announced fulfillment of the Scriptures and repeatedly called people to repentance and faith. In Jerusalem He was arrested, condemned under Pontius Pilate, crucified, died, and was buried. The Gospels testify that on the third day He rose bodily from the dead, appeared to His disciples, commissioned them to make disciples of the nations, and ascended to heaven. The apostolic writings proclaim Him as Lord, the crucified and risen Savior, mediator of the new covenant, and the One who will return in glory.
