Jehozadak was a high-priestly descendant carried into Babylonian exile and the father of Joshua the high priest of the restoration era.
Biography
First Chronicles 6 states that Jehozadak went into exile when the Lord carried Judah and Jerusalem away by Nebuchadnezzar. His son Joshua or Jeshua later served as high priest after the return and participated in rebuilding the Temple.
Biblical Significance
Jehozadak forms the genealogical bridge carrying the high-priestly line through the Babylonian exile into the restored community.
