Jehoshaphat son of Nimshi was the father of Jehu, king of Israel.
Biography
Second Kings identifies Jehu as the son of Jehoshaphat, son of Nimshi. Jehoshaphat himself is known only from this genealogy and should not be confused with the much more prominent King Jehoshaphat of Judah.
Biblical Significance
His significance is genealogical as father of Jehu. Accurate naming is important to prevent conflation with Judah's king of the same name.
