Bible Figure
Ishmael in Islam
Islamic view of Ishmael
'Ishmael in Islam' represents Islamic tradition about Ishmael rather than a separate figure in the canonical Bible.
Biography
Islamic tradition gives Ishmael a prominent role connected with Abraham and the ancestry of Arab peoples. The biblical Ishmael is already a distinct canonical figure; an entry specifically labeled 'Ishmael in Islam' concerns later comparative religious tradition rather than another biblical individual.
Biblical Significance
This record should be removed from a canonical Bible-figures table or moved to a clearly labeled comparative-religion section.
