Heth was a son of Canaan and ancestor of the people called the children or sons of Heth.
Biography
Genesis 10:15 and 1 Chronicles 1:13 list Heth as Canaan's son. In Genesis 23 Abraham negotiates with the sons of Heth for the cave of Machpelah, though no personal narrative about Heth himself is preserved.
Biblical Significance
Heth is significant in the Table of Nations and as the ancestral name connected with a Canaanite population encountered by Abraham.
