Eliezer son of Dodavahu was a prophet who rebuked King Jehoshaphat for making an alliance with the wicked King Ahaziah of Israel.
Biography
Second Chronicles 20 says Jehoshaphat later joined Ahaziah in building ships intended to go to Tarshish. Eliezer son of Dodavahu of Mareshah prophesied against Jehoshaphat, declaring that because he had joined with Ahaziah, the Lord would destroy what he had made. The ships were wrecked and could not sail.
Biblical Significance
Eliezer's brief ministry reinforces Chronicles' repeated warning that Judah's kings should not bind themselves to rulers who oppose God. His prophecy interprets the failed fleet as divine judgment on the alliance.
