Biography

Genesis 10 and 1 Chronicles 1 list Cush as a son of Ham and father of Seba, Havilah, Sabtah, Raamah, Sabteca, and Nimrod. Later biblical references use Cush primarily as a geographic or ethnic designation, often referring to lands south of Egypt. The ancestral Cush himself has no separate narrative beyond the genealogy.

Biblical Significance

Cush is important in the Table of Nations and as the ancestral name behind a region and peoples that appear repeatedly in later biblical history and prophecy. The ancestor should be distinguished from the geographic term.
