Asyncritus was a Christian in Rome greeted by Paul near the close of Romans.
Biography
Romans 16:14 sends greetings to Asyncritus together with Phlegon, Hermes, Patrobas, Hermas, and the brothers and sisters with them. This is the only biblical information clearly given about him. Later church traditions assign him offices and locations, but those claims are not stated in the New Testament.
Biblical Significance
Asyncritus represents one of the many otherwise little-known believers whose names preserve a glimpse of the early Roman Christian community.
