Uzziah

Uzziah became king as a youth and sought God during the days of Zechariah, who instructed him in the fear of God. He achieved military victories, fortified Jerusalem, expanded agriculture, and developed a strong, well-equipped army. Chronicles says that as his fame and strength increased, his heart became proud. Uzziah entered the Temple to burn incense, a duty reserved for Aaronic priests. When Azariah the priest and others confronted him, Uzziah became angry and was struck with leprosy. He lived isolated for the remainder of his life while his son Jotham administered the palace and governed the people.
