Truth
Doctrine & Theology • Both
Truth is faithfulness, reality, and conformity to what is right. In Scripture God is perfectly true, believers are called to truthful lives, and Jesus Christ is presented as “the truth.”
Biblical Usage
God’s truth guarantees the constancy of his character, promises, teaching, covenant, mercy, and judgment. Human beings are called to truthful speech and lives responsive to God. Christ is called “the truth,” and the gospel is called “the truth of the gospel.” The Spirit is associated with guiding believers into truth.
