Theocracy
Theocracy describes government under the direct rule and authority of God. Israel’s covenant constitution presented the LORD as its true King, with rulers, priests, and prophets responsible to declare and carry out his will.
Biblical Usage
Although the word itself is not biblical, the idea is presented as biblical. Israel is described as subject to Jehovah as its invisible King, whose will was communicated through prophets and expressed in law.
