Tema was a son of Ishmael, the ancestor of a tribe bearing his name, and the name of the Arabian region where that tribe settled. It was an oasis on an ancient caravan route near the Syrian desert.
Biblical Usage
Tema appears as an Ishmaelite descendant, a tribe, and a locality. Its people are associated with caravan travel, and its wells supplied travelers from the desert.
