Snow
Snow falls in Palestine during winter and remains year-round on high mountains such as Lebanon and Hermon. Scripture uses its whiteness as a picture of purity, cleansing, and the brightness of divine glory.
Biblical Usage
Scripture presents snow as evidence of God’s power over nature, compares forgiveness and purity with being white as snow, and uses snowy whiteness to describe garments and glory. The whiteness of leprosy is also compared with snow.
