Satan

Angels & Spiritual Beings • Both
Satan means adversary or accuser and is presented in Scripture as a personal, created spiritual enemy of God and humanity. He tempts, deceives, and opposes God’s people, but his power is limited and his final defeat is assured through Christ.
Biblical Usage
Satan is identified with the devil and is called the tempter, enemy, evil one, deceiver, accuser, dragon, and prince of this world. He tempts, deceives, opposes God’s people, and works through evil spirits and human agents. Christ’s work brings his defeat, while believers are warned to resist his devices.
