Obed-Edom

Temple & Tabernacle • Old Testament
Obededom is a shortened form of Obed-Edom, meaning “servant of Edom.” The name is associated with a man whose household received the ark and with Levitical temple servants.
Biblical Usage
After Uzzah’s death, David placed the ark in Obed-Edom’s house, where it remained for three months and brought blessing to the household. Obed-Edom and his family later appear in Levitical service before the ark, as doorkeepers, singers, and overseers of the storehouse.
