Music
Music was widely used in Israel for worship, celebration, mourning, prophecy, work, and public occasions. David and later temple leaders organized trained singers and instrumentalists for the service of God.
Biblical Usage
Music accompanied Israel’s song after the Red Sea crossing, the worship connected with the ark, temple services, religious reformations, and many social occasions. It could express joy, sorrow, hope, fear, faith, and other emotions.
