Levites

The Levites were the tribe descended from Levi, including the priestly family of Aaron and the other families assigned to sanctuary service. They carried and guarded the tabernacle, assisted in temple worship, taught the law, and served as singers and gatekeepers.
Biblical Usage
Levites carried and guarded the tabernacle, assisted the priests, preserved and interpreted the law, and later served as gatekeepers, singers, vergers, and attendants in the temple. Their work was organized among the Kohathites, Gershonites, and Merarites.
