JOARIB
Joarib was an ancestor of Mattathias and the traditional head of the first priestly course established under David. The name appears in related forms such as Jarib and Jehoiarib.
Biblical Usage
Joarib is named in 1 Maccabees 2:1 and 14:29, while the corresponding priestly course appears in 1 Chronicles 24:7.
