Jehoshaphat, Valley of
Prophecy • Old Testament
The Valley of Jehoshaphat is named in Joel as the scene where God gathers and judges the nations. Later tradition identified it with the Kidron Valley between Jerusalem and the Mount of Olives, though that identification is uncertain.
Biblical Usage
Joel calls it the place of judgment and also the “valley of decision.” The supplied material allows that the name may refer to an ideal scene of God’s final judgments rather than to a definite geographical valley.
